The Phantoms have been forced to end the season early and is no longer in business. The 2011 Phantoms board was established by volunteer parents mid-season in an effort to preserve the season for the players in both football and cheer. As a result of prior management, the 2011 team inherited a deficit totaling more than $20,000. Every attempt was made to reconcile those debts to no avail. As a result the decision was made to end the season early and dismantle the team, so as to not incur any additional debt that would inevitably be passed down to the next managing team. As many of you know the 2011 Phantoms had diligently worked on changing the football and cheer experience for the players, parents, and opposing teams. It was the goal of everybody involved to never live up to the old Phantoms reputation.
We would like to thank everyone with North Bay Football and Cheer for standing with the 2011 Phantoms for what we all hoped would finally become a valued participant in this fantastic organization. Thank you to all the parents who were involved, thank you to all the coaches and mentors who sacrificed for the opportunity to mold young men and women. Thank you to Elsie Allen High for allowing the 2011 Phantoms an opportunity to play. It really does take a village to raise children ,and while the reputation of the Phantoms would inevitably be its demise, there were very dedicated, caring people who stood up and said these kids are worth it, and did the very best job possible with what was left by previous management.
Many of you still want to know when and where to pick up your pictures, cookie dough, and anything else. On 11/8/11, you can drop off your equipment ie, pads, pants, helmets and cheer equipment, and pick up your prepaid pictures and orders. Please understand that every effort has been made to repay outstanding debts and returning your equipment is doing your part to help us end this Phantoms team on a positive note. If you do not return the equipment, your player cards will be passed out to every other team in the league and you will not be able to participate on any other team next year. By returning your equipment, you effectively release yourself of the Phantoms and more importantly the phantoms debt. Additionally if equipment is not returned it means your names must be submitted to the equipment supplier for collections. Please don't drag yourself down with the team and return the property back.
It’s has been a pleasure to get to know most of you and your children, I can say for all of us on the 2011 Phantoms, that it wasn’t easy, that it wasn't always fun but in the end I would do it all over again, I hope your kids continue to love football and remind them that all experiences in life good or bad, won’t last forever but always makes us better for it...
We will see you between 10 am and 12 pm at Elsie Allen High School on November 8th. Please bring your equipment to receive your pictures, orders, and trophies....
